Realtek Alc1220 Vb Hd Audio Codec

Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Ultra , BIOS v F8

Realtek audio manager for ALC1220-VB codec (gigabyte) Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Ultra, BIOS v F8. Audio (on-board): Realtek ALC1120-VB codec. Steps already taken: updated all drivers and chipsets to most current. Confirmed in apps list, control panel, Startup panel, and Search that there is no Realtek Audio Manager installed. Realtek Audio Control app for Windows 10. 'Realtek Audio Control' provides the best audio experience with the Realtek Audio Codec. You can adjust audio device effects and all the audio device settings in this App.

Audio (on-board): Realtek ALC1120-VB codec

Steps already taken:

updated all drivers and chipsets to most current

confirmed in apps list, control panel, Startup panel, and Search that there is no Realtek Audio Manager installed

disabled all audio controllers that are not Realtek

uninstalled all Realtek audio drivers (including checking the box to delete associated driver) in Device Manager

rebooted and reinstalled a number of versions of the latest drivers from both the manufacturer website, Aorus, and Microsoft Catalogue, and even the R282 version from 2017 from Realtek

No matter what I do, the Audio Manager does not install and I therefore have no way to re-task the line-in jacks for 5.1 channel sound.

My questions are:

1. where can I get a complete installer that will properly install both driver and Audio Manager

2. what is the name/version of the drivers I need

3. is the process described above adequate and if not, please describe in detail the necessary process

Hi MB. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 year Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator here to help you.
The Realtek Audio Manager app will come with the Realtek Drivers installed from the link provided here which also explains everything needed to get it to work:

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Hi Greg, while appreciated, I'm looking for something significantly more comprehensive of an answer than this. I guess I should have included in my 'steps taken' that I have already done everything on the above referenced 'www.thewindowsclub.com' linked article.

Ill also add that an additional step I have taken is to go into the Advanced System Settings > Hardware > Installation and select Off for automatic driver installation.

Note that the driver installation does complete, and the version updates to the expected number.

The problem is that the update is not installing the graphical interface that is requisite to properly use the driver with the on-board sound device, aka configuring 5.1 channel sound. To that point, as stated previously, I have already visited Realtek downloads, and there are no drivers specifically for the ALC1220 codec and the most recent generic hd audio driver is from 2017, which when installed STILL does not include and/or install the audio console/manager graphical interface.

I have written to both Gigabyte and Realtek directly, as of today and awaiting responses.

In my research I have seen super users make reference to deeper dives into the .inf , setup logs, and registry to further 'clean out' references to old Realtek AND Microsoft drivers. I'm only a mid-level user and this is probably beyond my skill to safely execute.

My ultimate recourse here is going to be buying a third party sound card like Creative if no remedy can be provided for this ratchet on-board sound device.

I have located the Realtek HD Audio Manager on my PC. I hope someone in my predicament is able to find this post and also get resolution.

It was located under Local Disk C:UsersridetAppDataLocalTemppft680B~tmpWIN64

here is the exact file I searched for, which is in fact the Realtek HD Audio Manager itself

RtkNGUI64.exe

I found this by doing an extremely thorough Search routine on the File Explorer.

I then copied this file over to the Realtek folder in Programs x86 and created a shortcut to my desktop. Screenshot below shows it works, and I can confirm that I have configured my speakers using it. Good luck out there to all of my fellow Windows 10 / faulty driver installation sufferers.

Thanks for reporting back to help others. Nice work!

Your 'Realtek HD Audio Manager' is supposed to disappear because your motherboard manufacturer provided you with a DCH driver that has a separate app called 'Realtek Audio Console (or Control)' that you download from the Microsoft Store.

oh really?

The app doesn't show up in searches. Old drivers are hundreds of MB in size. New DCH drivers are 20-30 MB in size.

If you have installed the Realtek DCH driver (most tech forums called it Realtek UAD drivers) correctly using the (sometimes several) setup.exe files, you will see the following items in the device manager. If you don't have the 3 software components, you installed the drivers incorrectly.

If you have the 3 realtek software components, you can download the app from the Microsoft Store.

This is the Realtek Audio Console UWP app which replaces the old Realtek HD Audio Manager.

Only AFTER you installed the driver and audio console correctly that you update the Realtek audio driver and the THREE Realtek software components from Microsoft Update Catalog downloads. Then Run Microsoft Store to update the app. Auto pan ableton.

good afternoon if u have the installation dvd. it sure will work ok. but if you already installed a driver through windows update it will not be ok. advise you to do a clean installation of the system and not connect to the internet ok. when the system is installed you put the driver installation dvd and have it installed ok. it doesn't matter that the drivers are from 1990 kkkkkk. have it installed ok. there it will work ok. windows is garbage and if it does not have the drivers to take a base it will not work ok. I've been there kkkkkk. the gigabyte mark and a total trash kkkkkk. Torrent email extractor 14 download. I hope I helped ok. about the drivers you can rest assured that you connect the pc to the network it will install the latest drivers ok.
